Past Layouts
Here is a collection of layouts that this site has seen through in the past. It's more like a mini portfolio to show how much the site has progressed. Newest layouts on the top, and don't forget to click on the thumbnail for a bigger image.
Morning Revival
This layout strongly emphasized on the design rather than the image. I was seeing what worked and what didn't. I put a lot of detail into the headers and all the different boxes and I loved how the little austronauts were just floating around. I also went for a lot lighter layout. I really like how this turned out and the color scheme was one of my favorites. I think I just got slightly bored of it after awhile. And after some helpful criticism I decided to change the look.
Techno Revolution
I think this layout was inspired by (A) wanting to try and have more of a "grayscale" layout with some rainbow colors in them and (B) Andy Warhol's kind of art. I spent quite a while on this thing trying to make it where the content was more "organized" and to have it simple almost. This is my very first layout that has image mapping, I am really glad how it turned out. My favorite part is the guy upside down with the "rainbow vomit" following him.
Happiness is Here
The very first layout for discoisdead.net, it features the very exuberant Zooey Deschanel. The color scheme is very different from what I normally do and I was just trying to open everything up and not have the layout so confined. It took an insanely long time to code and I it was the first time I ever used a CSS stylesheet. Though I think I sorta just got sick of the time it took for all the rollovers to load and the colors sorta hurt my eyes if I focused for to long.
